DETERMINATION OF CARBON BLACK CONTENT OF POLYOLEFINS AND ITS PRODUCTS

This test is carried out by pyrolysis of the material followed by calcination. The carbon black content is calculated from difference in mass before and after calcination and pyrolysis

The most important reason to use carbon black in the different materials is the protection it provides against UV radiation. It is important to control the amount of this pigment so it does interfere with the physical and organoleptic properties.
